Harriet Schofield MBACP (Accred)
My name is Harriet Schofield and I really believe in the potential for counselling to change lives.
More than I in 4 people access counselling or psychotherapy at some point in their lives (BACP, 2014), therefore if you are unhappy or life feels like a struggle you are not alone.
I understand how frightening it can be to feel stuck and like there is no way out, but I want you to know that if you are ready for things to change, then they can, however difficult things are feeling now.
I deeply believe that the only expert of you is you. I will therefore work with you to help you find a solution that best suits you. That feels meaningful and will be long lasting.
This will mean me supporting you as you explore the detail of the difficulties you are facing. This can sometimes feel easy as you are relieved to have someone to offload to, other times this can feel like a real challenge that you need to work hard at. Either way the results can be powerful as you find out what it is you really need to feel happier being you.
Please feel free to give me a call. I'm always happy to answer your questions and, if you feel you would like to, can arrange an initial, reduced cost, session to see if working with me feels right for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have experience of working with a wide range of adults, children and young people who are struggling in life; with anxiety, depression, relationship and family problems, low self-esteem, anger and bereavement among other challenges. I also have years of experience supporting those struggling with addiction.
In 2015 I received a Masters in Counselling from the University of Keele.
I am an Accredited Member (MBACP Accred) of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work to their ethical guidelines.
I have seen first-hand, both personally and professionally, the power counselling has to change lives and I look forward to discussing how it can help you.
