About me

Online Counselling now available.  These are uncertain and stressful times.  I am able to provide a confidential counselling service via Zoom or telephone.    A senior accredited counsellor, supervisor and trainer with 3 decades of professional experience in the NHS, university counselling and private practice.

Reduced rates available for EMDR session.  Please email me for details.

I bring to my practice an in-depth professional knowledge and experience gained during my career in the NHS, university counselling and in private practice.  A resourceful and pragmatic practitioner who over the years has developed an effective integrative approach:

My time in counselling has taught me that no two people are the same. The counselling process is very similar, as there are many different styles of therapy that can be applied. It is my ability to focus on each individual or couple, using a fusion of psychodynamic, systemic and cognitive behavioural therapies that helps my clients to understand the difficulties they face. Most people find that once they have developed a clearer insight they feel able to make positive changes in their life.

I work in ways that respect the individuality of the client, regardless of gender, race, religion, age, culture, education and sexuality. Client feedback confirms that I am able to create a safe and warm environment where people feel welcome, heard and accepted.

How to book a counselling session:

* free telephone consultation available

* book an initial consultation assessment session via email/phone

* decide after the initial assessment whether you would like to continue working with me in further sessions.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
