About me

Hello, I am Hannah, a Psychosynthesis Counsellor. I have a background in yoga, music, and working with children, and have always had an interest in self-discovery and healing. I am authentic, compassionate and warm in my approach.

If you are new to counselling, you may be wondering what to expect. The first session is an opportunity for us to meet and get to know each other. It will be a space for you to ask me any questions you may have about me or the counselling process, and to talk about what brings you to counselling.  At the end of this session, we should have a good idea as to whether we want to work together and continue with further sessions, although you may want to think it over for a few days.

Once the decision is made to continue, we will establish a ‘contract’ that we both feel comfortable with. This will make clear the confidential nature of the sessions, the cancellation policy and establish our commitment to working together in regular weekly sessions. I usually see clients once a week, at the same time, for 50 mins. If we are working online, you will need a quiet, safe and private place you can use, which has quality internet connection and the use of a headset to promote confidentiality and quality.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a postgraduate diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling (PGdip), and I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) which employ a strict code of ethics to ensure the highest standards of practice. I have experience with a range of issues including depression, self- esteem, anxiety, relationships, stress, addiction, grief and bereavement, panic attacks, chronic pain, career or life choices, family and relationship concerns, birth complications and trauma.

The Psychosynthesis style of counselling is integrative (drawing from all schools of psychology), and involves a holistic approach, appealing to those who are longing for a more authentic and truer experience of themselves.  If you are interested in working together, send me an email and we can arrange a time for a chat and go from there. I look forward to working with you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
