I am here to listen to you.
Let me assure you that there is power in being heard. Most importantly I will help you to listen to yourself. Through trauma, depression or addiction we can lose the ability to see and hear our whole selves.
I can help you.
I work from an Integrative Humanistic model of therapy and firmly hold the belief that each person has the capacity to reach towards greater meaning and fulfilment. This process of therapy is one of unfolding understanding. I can guide you through this process.
As understanding increases so does your personal power to find meaning and overcome your present circumstances.
I would love to hear from you today and see how I can help. As you share with me your reasons for considering therapy, I will explore the process with you. This is an opportunity for us to see if working together would be helpful for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I currently work as the Psychotherapist at Harrogate Homeless Project in our service called Streetlight. I lead Reflective Practice for staff as well as provide one to one therapy for our clients. I also provide therapy within my own private practice which I have been running for over a year.
I have experience providing one to one therapy with charities within the region. I have supported clients for issues related to substance abuse, trauma (specifically sexual abuse), play therapy for children as well as working with victims of crimes.
I am committed to seeking further knowledge and skills to support you in your journey. I am currently training to be a Relationship counsellor. While I don't provide couple sessions privately, I can work with you if you are seeking to make sense of your relationships.
I completed my Counselling and Psychotherapy training at York St John University. I am qualified, insured to practice, a member of the BACP [British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy] and have a valid police check.
See my website for further details of my training, qualifications and experience:
Areas of counselling I deal with
My fees are £40.00 per session for one to one therapy. Payments can be made by cash at the end of our session or via Internet Banking. I will provide you with a receipt of payment.
I have a 24 hour cancellation policy.
For talking therapy I would recommend meeting with you once a week for a period of 60 minutes. If required, I'm happy to discuss alternative arrangements with you prior to therapy. I provide counselling in a room based in central York. It is a 2 minute walk from the train station. While parking isn't available on site, there are several car parks a short walk away. The counsel room is on the first floor and is accessible by stair lift.
Where face to face sessions aren't possible I provide therapy via telephone or video calls. If required, I'm happy to discuss alternative arrangements with you prior to therapy.
You may find that the decision to begin therapy is proving difficult. I want to connect you with correct information. Whether you have questions or concerns I would love to hear from you and see how I can help.
Call me today on: 07511017619 or e-mail me using my contact form. If I don't answer please leave me a voicemail. I'll return your message or e-mail within 24 hours.
I work in privately in York on Tuesday evening, Wednesday and Friday morning. I work in Leeds on Monday and Thursday evenings.
