About me

I am a psychosexual and relationship therapist and an integrative counsellor, practising in South East London.  My intention is to support and empower individuals and couples to achieve their life potential in a safe and non-judgemental environment. I specialise in multicultural couples and civil partnership relationships. Through intensive training and continued personal development I have my own insight into, and understanding of, individuality, acceptance and diversity. I am MBACP accredited/registered and an accredited COSRT member. I abide by their codes of conduct and ethical frameworks.

Counselling

Counselling is an individual journey.  If you are struggling with day-to-day life, feeling stuck, unable to make decisions, tearful, angry, resentful, lonely, struggling with your relationship with yourself and others, I can help you through your journey by being there to offer you the support you need.

My role as a counsellor is to support you through this hard time and help you to use your internal ability to implement change that results in a more satisfying life. I will not offer advice but will commit to walk alongside you without judgement, as I believe every individual has the potential to achieve a satisfying life.

I offer a warm and confidential space where you will feel supported as you explore and gain insight into the difficulties that bring you to counselling. Counselling is an individual journey as every human being has unique gifts and abilities. I understand the journey can be difficult as looking into how you got here, your past experience, history, culture and beliefs can be daunting. In this vulnerable time, my aim is to provide a supportive safe space where you will feel accepted, supported and listened to.

Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy

Are you happy with the sex you are having? Are you and your partner having satisfying sex? Are you struggling with your sexuality? Are you experiencing low libido, low sexual desire, inability to achieve an orgasm, difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection, inability to control ejaculation or experiencing delayed ejaculation?

It is often difficult to know how to resolve difficulties around sex, sexuality and relationships. As a psychosexual and relationship therapist I will support and help you explore sexual and relationship issues in a safe environment. I believe human beings are all sexual beings regardless of their age or sexuality. I offer a safe space for individuals and couples to explore their sexual problems without being judged.

COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL COUPLES THERAPY (CBT for couples for Depression)
This is an approach that exists to help depressed individuals in committed relationships learn to cope with their depression as a team with their partner.  Additionally, couples are helped to have the most positive, healthiest relationship possible.

  • Partners of depressed individuals often want to help, but don't know how.  This treatment helps both members of the couple better understand depression and how to support one another in this process.
  • This treatment teaches a variety of practical techniques to help couples combat depression as a team.  Some of the techniques used are similar to what is used in individual therapy, but in this treatment partners learn how to help the individual overcome depression.
  • Depression can sometimes make having a healthy relationship more difficult; if you have been experiencing relationship concerns, those are addressed as well.
Finally, research suggests that this treatment works as well as, and sometimes better than, individual treatment for depression.  Additionally, this treatment can enhance and strengthen relationships.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

COSRT
College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT)

COSRT is the UK’s leading membership organisation for therapists specialising in sexual and relationship issues.

All members must abide by their Code of Ethics and the performance of accredited members is regularly monitored.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
