About me

I am a psychotherapist who has substantial experience working with adults, adolescents, young children, families and couples. I have worked for a variety of therapeutic services, along with running a successful private practice, offering Psychotherapy and Supervision.
At present I divide my time between providing Mental Health support to individuals who are experiencing emotional difficulties that are impacting on their work situation and need appropriate intervention to help them to remain in employment.
I also provide psychotherapy, clinical supervision and training through my private practice.
I have extensive experience of working with children and families in an education setting, via Children’s Services and private referral.

I strive to offer a safe environment for clients to explore whatever difficulty they may be having in a non judgemental way. I will work with the client from the initial assessment onwards to establish how we might approach working with their particular circumstances in the best possible way to enable a positive result.

Issues that clients have come with include: Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Abuse, Addiction, Anger, Marriage difficulty, Eating disorders, work stress and many more.

NB I run my private practice at consulting rooms in both Loddon and Norwich City centre. However for young children and families I will come to your home unless this is not appropriate. (All sessions will be via FaceTime or zoom at present due to the current Covid-19 outbreak)

Training, qualifications & experience

Post-Graduate Certificate in Integrative Counselling (BACP Accredited)
Post Graduate-Diploma in Person Centred Counselling (BACP Accredited)
MA in Counselling (BACP Accredited).

I have trained predominantly within the person centred approach though I also have experience and completed further training in the other major approaches such as C.B.T, Psychodynamic, Existential approaches, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Art Therapy and qualifications relating to child and family counselling.

Additionally for the past eleven years I have trained adults to become counsellors from entry level courses through to Post-Graduate level which I feel helps to keep me up to date with theory and generally enhances my practice.

Finally due to working within education and for children's services, I am safeguarding and signs of safety trained.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
