About me

Hi and welcome to my profile page. I am Hannaa, a fully qualified counsellor and a post-graduate psychologist. I offer safe and confidential (telephone and online) therapy.

In the therapy sessions, I work to create a space for you to reflect and explore freely while feeling heard and supported. I respect and value the uniqueness of each person's experience and identity. The approach I use is integrative; this means I integrate a wide range of therapeutic modalities according to your needs. The work is relational and draws from person-centred therapy, object relations theory, cognitive behavioural therapy, relational psychotherapy and body psychotherapy.

Clients shared that they felt helped, hopeful and found new perspectives and meaning in what previously felt like an impossible and stuck experiences at the start of the therapeutic journey. Since 2009, I have been experientially and academically studying the rich psychotherapeutic field and psychology (such as positive psychology), which led me to believe that there are a number of ways available to connect with one's own strength and ability to change and grow.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Further information

Being culturally mixed and growing up between Europe and Africa, I developed a passion and fascination towards cultures. In the past 7 years I specialised in providing culturally-sensitive integrative therapy to diverse ethnic groups (in the UK and abroad) in the charity sector and in private practice. I learned a lot listening and working with homeless clients, refugees and asylum seekers. The experience of working at Waterloo Community Counselling, Room to Heal Helen Bamber Foundation with a number of people from diverse backgrounds is priceless to me. Among other, I worked with trauma and abuse; domestic violence and sexual exploitation, schizophrenia, and substance misuse.
