About me

As a counsellor, I want to help people feel better - about themselves, their relationships, or their lives in general. Whether you are new to counselling or have had therapy in the past, I believe in counselling’s power to support people in working through their thoughts and feelings, and discovering a way forward.

I believe that every person has the resources to find their own answers, and I work in a way that aims to provide you, the client, the space to find those answers. I hope to support you in exploring your feelings about things such as:

  • Anxiety
  • Low mood
  • Depression
  • Stress
  • Self-esteem issues
  • Confidence issues
  • Loss or bereavement
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Life changes (e.g. a new job or relocation)

This list is not exhaustive, and I will do my best to help you explore anything you wish to talk about in our sessions. I work mostly with adults, but also have experience with young adults/teenagers from 16 years and up. I currently don't work with children or teenagers under 16 years of age.

Please visit my website to learn more about how I work, or get in touch via email or phone 07946110377 and I will do my best to answer any questions you might have.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold a Level 4 Diploma in Counselling Skills, and have completed additional courses on topics such as anxiety and depression, eating disorders, and self-harm and suicide. I have worked mainly with adult clients in private practice as well as in a GP setting.

In addition to my counselling qualifications, I hold a degree in English and German from Warwick University, and an MPhil from the University of Cambridge. I speak Swedish and English and have a good understanding of German.

Originally from Sweden, I spent my childhood and early adulthood living in several European countries, before settling in Cambridge.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
