About me

Hi,  I'm H, I'm a qualified person centred counsellor,  CBT therapist, counselling supervisor and relationship therapist.  I have in-depth experience working with: anxiety disorders, depression, panic attacks, addiction, bereavement and relationships.  I currently work with two charities:  a sexual violence centre and an addiction centre working with issues from sexual trauma such as PTSD (rewind technique), self-harm, low self-esteem, alcohol and drug misuse.  I have experience of working with the LGBTQ community and asylum seekers.  I work with individuals, couples and young people ( 16+) in a safe, confidential and supportive capacity.

Previous counselling settings include counselling within a hospice and facilitating bereavement groups, CBT therapist based at a homeless refuge,  Anxiety UK (anxiety and panic disorders).  I have also fostered children and understand those particular complexities. I have a wide ranging experience of people of all backgrounds and walks of life.

I work from two locations:  Ellesmere Port primarily on a Saturday pm (this location is wheelchair accessible) and Heswall: some evenings and Saturday mornings.

I can work in a person-centred, CBT or integrative approach as required.

Counselling sessions are booked for 50 minute time slots, the first session is an informal information gathering and assessment and we will continue from there - initially it is recommended sessions are held on a weekly basis.

If you have any questions or queries please do ask.  I am happy to offer a complementary initial phone call or email to  discuss your needs and the way forward before booking a session.  Take care and I hope to speak to you soon.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
