About me

Counselling offers a way to discuss issues that are worrying you, with someone who has been trained how to listen and who can help you come to terms with what is happening. And counselling helps you find ways to cope and to change. Counselling offers a safe place in which to have the difficult conversations

I am a counsellor of over 15 years experience, mainly with Relate. I am qualified to work with individuals, couples and families. And I know that counselling is a positive experience for many.

Counselling with individuals. We all have a relationship with ourselves and sometimes this may not be a positive one. We forget to be kind to ourselves, there may be a family history of us being encouraged to play out certain rôles that we are clinging to unnecessarily. We may be finding it difficult relating to others personally or professionally.

Counselling with couples. Keeping a relationship going takes a great deal of hard work. Many of us feel that the fun has gone. We may feel the relationship has changed since the children arrived. Sometimes we need to explore whether we want to stay with our partners. I work with clients of all sexualities.

Counselling with families. Maybe we aren’t getting on with our teenage children. Maybe we are adults who are finding it difficult getting on with our siblings or our elderly parents. Maybe we are dealing with huge changes and losses in the family.

I have experience of working positively in such instances. I encourage you to find your voice, to really listen to what the other people in your life are saying and to have conversations that are beneficial to you. I am ethically bound to be non judgmental and our conversations are confidential.

I have been trained in systemic and psychodynamic therapy and would consider myself an integrative and creative counsellor, tailoring the way I work to the needs of my client.

I am a fluent Welsh speaker and offer sessions in Welsh and English, sometimes using both languages with clients.

I often participate in programmes on S4C and Radio Cymru as a counsellor.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
