About me

Are you feeling confused, sad, detached or anxious? Perhaps you are feeling stuck but you’re too ashamed or embarrassed to tell anyone about it? Do you put up a front for others but inside you’re feeling lost, confused and like you’re barely holding all the pieces together. You may be experiencing difficult relationships at work or home; you may not be able to keep all the balls you are expected to juggle in the air or you may have had an experience that you can’t seem to let go of. Perhaps you are struggling to find yourself in this hectic, fast paced culture we live in or you have difficulty with managing your emotions.

Whatever you are going through, I understand that by searching this site, you have made a choice today to take the first step towards self-nurturing. You may have questions about therapy and whether it will help you or whether it will even be feasible given your other commitments. I am happy to talk to you about the therapy I offer and to think with you about how to make it work for you.

My role as a therapist means that I am here to listen and work with you towards making sense of your difficulties. I help to walk people through their pain to reach a point of feeling like they are their own therapist. I aim for clients to leave therapy understanding the ‘why’ and ‘how’ to manage their difficulties. Therapeutic tools will be learnt during therapy when both of us agree that you feel safe and confident enough to use them to address the things, that right now, may feel too overwhelming.

My title as a chartered clinical psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) means that I have the required level of competence and ability to help people like you who experience psychological and emotional distress. My many years of experience of working in private and NHS mental health organisations and understanding of various psychological theory and models means that I have worked with and been able to help many people, all equally as unique as you. I am always guided in my work by recommended treatment options, but I strive to ensure that therapy fits my clients’ needs and use much more than a protocol driven approach.

Like everyone, I have experienced life’s ups and downs and have practised what I ask my clients to do. I approach therapy from a place of authenticity, trust and empathy whilst holding true to the matter at hand. I will provide you with a safety net and I am here to support you and guide you along a healing journey that will not only get you through this stuck point but will lead to self-growth. I am experienced in working cross culturally and take care to respect and work within existing belief systems which may be spiritual and/or religious.

I am happy to offer you a free 20 minute phone consultation which will allow you to ask me any questions you have about me or the therapy I offer. I can also learn a little bit about what has brought you here today. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
