About me

I am an experienced Psychological Therapist and am accredited with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). I have been working in Mental Health services for the past 13 years. I began my career working in acute psychiatry. However for the past six years I have been working as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with people experiencing common mental health difficulties including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma (PTSD) and many other presentations. I have recently completed further training in Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). This has enabled me to work in a more focused way with interpersonal difficulties including complicated grief and relationship difficulties.

How I work

After you make contact with me I will invite you for an initial session giving us the opportunity to discuss in what is troubling you. We will usually decide at the end of the first session how we will proceed with therapy. I generally offer weekly sessions at an allocated time, and this will be discussed when we first meet.

I provide one to one psychotherapy predominantly from a CBT perspective, however I also use Compassion Focused Therapy theory, especially when working with trauma. I also work with Interpersonal Therapy.
