About me

I am an experienced Psychological Therapist and am accredited with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). I have been working in Mental Health services for the past 13 years. I currently practice as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with people experiencing common mental health difficulties including anxiety disorders, depression, trauma (PTSD) and many other types of difficulty. I am also fully qualified in Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). This enables me to work in a more focused way with interpersonal difficulties including complicated grief and relationship difficulties.

How I work

After you make contact with me I will invite you for an initial session giving us the opportunity to discuss in what is troubling you. We will usually decide at the end of the first session how we will proceed with therapy. I generally offer weekly sessions at an allocated time, and this will be discussed when we first meet.

I provide one to one psychotherapy predominantly from a CBT perspective, however I also use Compassion Focused Therapy theory, especially when working with trauma. I also work with Interpersonal Therapy.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

Although the premises I currently work from does not have wheelchair access, I do provide telephone sessions, and also have access to another premises with wheelchair access.
