My name is Greg; I am a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor who works in Norwich. Working in a Person-Centred way means that I hope to place your experience at the heart of our work together. I will offer a safe place, free from external judgment and opinion, where you can explore the issues that are troubling you in your life. Over time, my hope is that you will experience Empathy and Acceptance and this will form the basis of a beneficial therapeutic relationship.
I trained as a counsellor after a career in education and a background in Fine Art. I find creativity, in its broadest sense, a very important element to counselling and I am open to creative ways of communication which enable clients to best engage with their own unique process in therapy. I came to the counselling profession with a great deal of lived experience, both challenging and uplifting, and as a younger man I found my own counselling a life changing process. I believe deeply that a person can be truly themselves without the need to conceal aspects of their personality because of external influences - what a relief to be able to be more of who we are, more of the time.
A good therapeutic relationship can enable personal growth, provide the much-needed movement you may be seeking and begin or enhance the process of self-acceptance. Remaining stuck in a potentially damaging situation or engaging in harmful behaviours can often feel like the only way of coping. However, by developing self-awareness through counselling you can become more aware of initial triggers, and what can lead to this sense of stuckness in life.
Counselling at times can feel daunting; I will work alongside you in your therapeutic process by supporting you in your work. I am very open to hearing how the process feels for you the client. I welcome your feedback and thoughts throughout our time working together.
I offer an exploratory session to potential clients at a reduced hourly rate so that both you and I can see whether we feel able to work together. Initial contact should be made by email. I will then arrange a time to call you back by phone to have an initial chat with you. We can then book a time for your exploratory session to take place.
Due to the current Covid-19 Health Crisis I am offering counselling sessions online only. They will take place on a secure and encrypted platform. I will update you as the situation progresses and restrictions are eased.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
