About me

As a person-centred counsellor, I aim to work with you so that you are supported and empowered to explore the often complex issues, situations and emotions that you feel may need clarification or change.

I value your individuality and your right to live your life according to your chosen values – I don’t judge or superimpose my own.

Through person-centred counselling we can uncover our sense of our own unique way forward, realising our innate potential for growth and change.

After training with the British Focusing Association, I’ve developed more appreciation for the strong connection between mind and body- a connection which is often downplayed in our society. If we attend to our embodied felt sense of a situation with patience and curiosity, then fresh, new insight and meaning can arise and help change to unfold.

If you have a sense that you’d like to integrate more awareness of your inner experience into your counselling sessions, we can include Focusing moments, encouraging change in a natural, safe manner.

I’m committed to providing an ethical and respectful counselling service that values diversity. All gender identities and pronouns are very welcome.

Training, qualifications & experience

While I have a Psychology degree, my counselling training and experience are grounded in my Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

I’m a registered member of the BACP and a Focusing Practitioner with the British Focusing Association.

I have gained experience in counselling through working with people through a placement with Mind, and, after qualifying, I still volunteer there now. I have supported clients through a variety of issues.

I have recently set up in private practice and I work online and over the phone. I hope to offer face-to-face sessions in the near future.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
