Dr Graziella Ferigo
I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist (Brief Strategic Therapist, Interpersonal Therapist and expert in Legal Psychology).
I am an expert in Brief Strategic Therapy (10 sessions) and I work with adults, family and children presenting with Anxiety problems, Depression, Eating Disorders, sexual problems related to anxiety and relationship problems.
I have completed my training in Brief Strategic Therapy with Prof Giorgio Nardone in January 2004 and I am grateful to him for what I have learnt.
The Brief Strategic Therapy is a therapeutic intervention focussed on supporting patients to break the vicious circle of dysfunctional/maladaptive responses to a particular problem through specific strategies.
This therapeutic intervention is based on the present - as the past is misleading - in fact - although the problem might be linked with something happened in the past, within years and life experiences - we adapted to present circumstances and the way we respond to that problem might no be the same anymore.
The Brief Strategic Therapy has proved to be successful for 87% of cases on an average of 6/7 sessions.
I am happy to say to my patients that the therapy is effective and in some cases the problem is solved in 2/3 sessions - the positive outcome depends on our partnership relationship and how they will follow my prescriptions/homework between sessions.
For more than 25 years I have been studying and gaining expertise within the Psychology fields.
I have worked as a Clinical Psychologist/Psychotherapist for the last 20 years both in Italy and the UK.
Within the last 11 years I have worked as Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist in London both in the private and public sectors (Adults, children and Families) and within several NHS Trusties - North East London Foundation Trust, Springfield University Hospital, East London Foundation Trust and West London Foundation Trust.
I also work with:
- Women who present with mental health problems linked to specific stages of their life (puberty stage, marriage, pregnancy, mother role, divorce, menopause, grand-parenting etc.)
- Young People who present with challenging behaviours and emotional difficulties and having underlying mental health problems such as ASD, ADHD and ODD.
I am accredited as a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
I am also accredited with the Interpersonal Therapy - UK association and I am also a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
