About me
Welcome.
Maybe you wonder how therapy with me would be. Maybe you feel stuck in your current life situation, or have suffered mental illness. Either way, I look at therapy as an exploration into finding a better life more in connection with whatever I am or you are. Hopefully there is some fun in it, as well as any difficulties!
After an initial assessment, I will concentrate on getting to know you and hearing your story. This creates a space of safety and trust to work with.
People say I'm an outstanding listener. At this point it often involves saying things that, maybe, you've been unable to say before. After 8 weeks, I schedule in a review to ensure we wish to continue. This may only take a few moments, or maybe we discuss things more. In longer-term therapy I schedule regular reviews so we can see where we are.
As things develop I may introducing other methods than just talking things through. These might include bodywork, CBT, EFT, Gestalt, roleplay, and creative imagination and visualisation tools. It's my experience that there is a lot of immagination in the way we see ourselves and the world, both for better and for worse. Sometimes this also involves artwork and some writing of short pieces, because there is also a lot of play here which makes exploration of things so much easier..
I look forward to meeting you to discover what you need. Do contact me if you have any further questions.

Member organisations
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
