About me
I work with an integrative approach, using different theories and techniques to enable clients to feel heard and understood, and move forward with new perspective. We all need space to heal from time to time in life. Having someone listen and accept you wholly, without judgement can be invaluable. Whatever your current feelings or issues are, we can explore them together to allow you space to process them, and create change however works best for you. My work is non-directive, so each session is your time to use however you wish.
Mental health issues such as anxiety and depression, or struggles with neuro diversity such as Autism or ADHD are part of human nature. However sometimes these struggles become overwhelming, and that is when help is needed. The thought of coming to therapy may be daunting, especially when a person is experiencing low self-esteem or self confidence, or when it comes to fitting sessions into a busy schedule. I offer in person, online or telephone sessions weekly or fortnightly, to be as adaptable as possible. Please get in touch and we can talk through what you would like from counselling , and see if you feel we are the right fit.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Process of setting up counselling sessions:
- Get in touch to arrange a free initial 15 minute consultation - we will discuss your needs both emotionally and practically and see if you feel we are a good fit.
- We will then arrange sessions either in this call, or communication via email/telephone
- During the initial session we can discuss in more depth what it is you are going through, your hopes or expectations from counselling, and the boundaries of how to work together.
- Counselling sessions can then be long or short term, depending on your needs. I ask for a sessions notice if you decide to end our work together. During the last session we can reflect on our time together and how you are going to move forward.
