About me
As an integrative counsellor, my approach is rooted in the belief that every individual has inherent worth and is entitled to essential human connection—to be acknowledged, valued, listened to, and understood.
Are there times when you feel worried, lonely, angry, stressed, overwhelmed, depressed, vulnerable or you feel trapped and unsure of your direction? Your life’s challenging situation might feel like being on a battlefield for a long time, where you can’t see a way out or feel too exhausted to continue fighting. I am dedicated to supporting you on your journey toward healing and personal growth. You may view counselling as a way to develop strategies for facing life’s battles and overcoming challenges. While I’m here to support you in that journey, my goal goes beyond offering tools for the fight. I’m also here to help guide you away from the battlefield so that you can find peace, feel safe, and enjoy life again. The ‘miracle solution’ might come when you’re willing to see things from different perspectives and open yourself to your current and past experiences. This openness can lead to new insights that empower you to embrace your true, authentic self.
My work is client-directed, and I tailor therapy by integrating various therapeutic theories and approaches, such as psychodynamic, person-centred, CBT, creative approaches, solution-focused (brief) therapy, attachment theory, and elements of Internal Family Systems (IFS), to meet your individual needs.
Training, qualifications & experience
BA (Hons) degree in integrative counselling. I work in private practice, meeting clients face-to-face and online. Previous history includes a PhD in Political Science.
I have worked with clients from various socio-cultural backgrounds with a wide variety of issues such as, attachment, trauma, stress, anxiety, life transitions, anger management and relationships, amongst others. I have experience helping people with self-confidence and questioning their purpose in life. I receive monthly supervision sessions to ensure the safe and ethical practice of my work.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
The Association of Christians in Counselling and Linked Professions (ACC) is a Christian professional membership organisation for those involved in counselling/psychotherapy and linked professions, i.e. pastoral care, coaching and spiritual direction, in the UK. The organisation is made up of various different membership categories, including Counsellor and Accredited, and requires all members working as counsellors to undertake Continuous Professional Development on a regular basis.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
