I’m Gloria, a fully qualified Counsellor and member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I work within their ethical framework.
I provide confidential counselling in Headingley. My approach is person-centred and humanistic, as I put the client at the centre of the therapeutic relationship and work towards creating a safe environment where you feel understood and accepted.
Whatever reason brings you to counselling, I offer a supportive & nurturing space, in which you can safely explore your thoughts and feelings. I work alongside you and your pace so that we can explore the issues you are facing together.
Counselling is a deeply personal process and during the initial session, we can assess what you would like to gain from this journey.
I offer short-term as well as open-ended therapy. How long we might work together will depend on your needs.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a diploma in therapeutic counselling and am committed to undertaking regular training in order to keep my skills relevant and up to date and my practice is regularly supervised.
I have also worked as a volunteer counsellor for a charity supporting adults affected by childhood sexual abuse for 2.5 years, where I have supported clients on a short-term and long-term basis.
I can offer counselling to people who are struggling with a wide range of issues including; stress, anxiety, depression, bereavement, issues surrounding sexual abuse and childhood trauma, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties and family issues.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
