About me

As we navigate life we all face challenges, some are manageable and can be overcome whilst others leave us struggling to cope, overwhelmed and become stuck. It is at times like these when counselling can be beneficial. Providing the opportunity to explore and perhaps gain a different perspective or insight, aiding our understanding and ability to find an acceptable resolution to those issues or problems that are causing distress.

What Can I Expect

My approach is open and transparent, promoting a relaxed and calm environment. I recognise and value the use of humour when appropriate, as I have found that this helps not only the therapeutic relationship, but has in my experience assisted in moving the work on. I offer support and guidance in a warm and compassionate environment, where you are heard, accepted and valued without any agenda or judgement. A luxury for most of us in today's busy world. I have found that this can be very empowering for clients, helping to raise their self-esteem and self-confidence, providing the opportunity to explore new perspectives and gain alternative insights that can enable individuals to discover their own solutions, move forward and ultimately thrive.

Can Counselling Help me?

I am experienced in working with a number of issues; which include anxiety, anger management, bullying, bereavement and loss, depression, low self esteem, low self confidence and stress, exam stress and panic attacks. I specialise in working with children and young people.

I individually tailor each intervention so as to provide a unique personal service, I extend confidentiality in my private practice, which offers both counselling and supervision. I also work as a schools counsellor and as a counsellor for clients and young people affected by alcohol and substance misuse issues who are referred by local agencies.

I conduct an assessment at our first meeting, where I invite you to also assess me, to see if I am the right therapist for you. There is no commitment to further sessions unless you are happy to continue. My aim is to help promote change and develop your resources to enable you to move forward and experience life to the full.

I would be happy to hear from you should you have any questions, either by phone or email. glenmgm5@gmail.com
