About me

I offer affordable Counselling and Psychotherapy and use a blend of therapies and techniques tailored to meet your individual needs.

My availability is variable which allows me to accommodate your schedule.

I offer a free 15-minute consultation.

In addition to my private practice, I have also worked for Victim Support and Cruz Bereavement and spent many years working in an education setting counselling adults and young people, and I spent several years counselling online and via telephone and worked with a charity that supports the over 50s, giving me the experience of working with people across the life stages.

The person-centred approach to counselling underpins my work. However, I use an integrative approach to enable my clients and me to work together while focusing on 'you' the client.  My experience using different tools and approaches is vast. My training in hypnotherapy and psychotherapy has informed my counselling and enabled me to work effectively with my clients over the years.

I know how daunting it can be to take that first step to seek counselling...I understand because I have been in that position! It was this experience and the help I received from my counsellor that led to me taking the decision to undertake the training to be able to help others in the way I was helped, by becoming a professional counsellor/psychotherapist.

After my initial training I went on to qualify as a Hypnotherapist/ Psychotherapist, then went on to complete my Certificate in Supervision, I have recently updated my supervision through completing my Advanced Certificate in Clinical Supervision Including Online and Telephone Working.

My aim as your counsellor will be to offer you the support to become the best YOU that YOU can be! by to enabling you to explore and share you worries, unhelpful thoughts, habits or behaviours that are impacting your life at present.

The space I offer gives you a place to explore your issue in a safe and confidential environment, where you will be listened to empathically and sensitively.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
