About me

Hi! I am Gill and I am a psychotherapist and founder of The Therapy Space Chelmsford. I am here to support you through depression, anxiety, life stress and trauma. If you are reading this it is likely that you have had enough of feeling stressed, down or low. Perhaps worrying constantly or feeling panicky? Struggling to get out of bed and feeling exhausted? Or feeling like your past is affecting your present? If you relate to these feelings then cognitive behavioural therapy, counselling or EMDR can help. You do not have to continue suffering. Your life can have meaning again and your symptoms can improve!

I have worked for 12 years in psychological therapies and can offer high quality CBT, counselling and EMDR. I am a warm, compassionate person with the belief that having a trusting therapeutic relationship is key to progress and making change in therapy.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have worked for 12 years supporting people with emotional difficulties to gain control back over their lives. I have experience in a variety of NHS and private therapy settings offering group, one to one therapy and supervision to staff. I am an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist completing high quality training at the Institute of Psychiatry in London. I completed a master’s degree in counselling psychology prior to my training in CBT. I am now training in EMDR and will be able to offer this cutting-edge treatment for trauma and emotional disorders at my practice. I am proud that I can offer such a bespoke service to my clients.

I offer the gold standard of CBT treatment as a fully accredited member of the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies where I abide by strict codes of ethics, confidentiality and practice. The BABCP is the lead organisation for the practice, theory and development of CBT in the UK. BABCP accreditation demonstrates that I hold the necessary qualifications and clinical experience to deliver high quality CBT. I am also training in EMDR with the University of London who are accredited by EMDR Europe.
