About me

Developing a warm, respectful and understanding relationship with my client is central to my work. This authentic relationship acts as a kind of ‘container’, which creates a safe space for you to explore the issues and challenges facing you. You'll gain awareness and understanding of underlying patterns and beliefs that may be restricting your perception, your behaviour and your ability to cope with the challenges facing you.

We live in increasing chaotic times and we have to cope with far more complexity than any other generation has ever had to face. When you’re feeling overwhelmed with stress, or fearful, or only able to tolerate and survive the difficulties, then the safety of a warm, understanding yet honest therapeutic relationship can help you to transform your difficulties into inspiring learning opportunities, where you can realise more of your potential, live a more meaningful life and develop more resilience.

Getting started

I'd love to hear from you so that we can have a chat and find out whether we want to work together. So send me an email or give me a call. You can then tell me what is troubling you and I'll explain a little about how I work. We can then make an appointment for an intial session where you can go into more detail about what you'd like to get from counselling.

I'm happy to offer face-to-face sessions in Exmouth, or we can work online or by telephone, which ever is your preference.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
