I am a UKCP Accredited Integrative Psychotherapist with over 20 years' experience in helping people make real changes in their lives. I have considerable experience in providing secure online and telephone sessions, as these have formed a significant part of my practice for some years. I have found online working to be equally effective as face to face work and, in many cases, more convenient and flexible for my clients. Do contact me via phone (07931 868972) or email (email@example.com) to arrange a free no-obligation 20 minute phone consultation. This gives you the opportunity to speak to me and ask me any questions you may have before booking a full assessment session.
I offer both short-term and longer term counselling and psychotherapy for individuals and couples from many different backgrounds. As an Integrative Psychotherapist I am able to draw on a number of different approaches, including CBT, mindfulness and EMDR. This enables me to tailor my work to the individual needs of each client to help them make the changes they want in their lives as quickly and easily as possible.
I have experience of working with a wide range of issues, including anxiety and panic attacks, anger management, depression, stress and issues at work, relationship difficulties, phobias and OCD, addictive or problematic behaviours, loss and bereavement, eating disorders, trauma and sleeping problems.
For further information regarding my practice, please visit my website at www.psychotherapylondon.org.uk. In the meantime, I am happy to answer any questions you have by phone (07931 868972) or email and will endeavour to reply to you within 24 hours.
Training, qualifications & experience
I originally trained and practised as a Solicitor in the City of London, after gaining a degree in Modern History at Manchester University.
In the early 1990s I then studied Psychology and gained a Dip Psych from the Open University whilst still working as a lawyer. Following this, I decided to train as a Psychotherapist and embarked on a five year part-time training as an Integrative Psychotherapist at the Metanoia Institute. I completed my Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy with Merit and became a Registered UKCP Psychotherapist and finally left the law behind!
Since qualifying, I have undergone further training in CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), EMDR and Mindfulness approaches, which have now become a part of my Integrative practice.
I have over 20 years' experience of working as a therapist with a variety of individuals and couples from diverse backgrounds, seeking help for a wide range of issues and problems. I have considerable experience of working with clients for whom English is not their first language. I myself have lived and worked overseas in several different countries.
In particular, my previous career as a Solicitor in Central London and The City has given me a real understanding of the stresses and demands of professional and corporate life, as well as the need for balance between sustaining a successful career and a fulfilling personal life.
I have worked in many and varied settings, including the NHS, Employee Assistance Programmes, Domestic Violence projects as well as private practice.
Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
UK Council for Psychotherapy
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

My practice is now solely online i.e. secure video or telephone sessions. I have worked with clients remotely for over fifteen years, so I can vouch for the fact that my clients have found this way of working very effective and, in many cases, more suitable to their living circumstances, particularly if they work irregular and long hours, are freelance or need to travel for their work.
