About me

Hello, thank you for looking at my profile, my name is Gill and this is my own private counselling business. I work from my own home, just north of Lincoln. I can see you face to face in person or an online session.

I first became interested in counselling 25 years ago after I had completed the Introduction to Counselling course. I then went on the complete a Diploma in Counselling course and finished by gaining a level 6 FDA Degree in Counselling.

I was employed at Lincoln College as a qualified Lecturer, working with young adults in the Foundation Department from 1996 to 2013. I have a Special Needs Teaching Certificate and have personal experience of how caring for a child with a learning/physical disability can have an enormous impact on family life.

My counselling practise has included working with domestic abuse, rape and relationships.

I have experience in suicide and suicidal thoughts and also facing life with a cancer diagnosis. I understand the pressures life can throw at us and how life can suddenly change.

You are welcome to get in touch with me and have a free 30 minute Video or telephone consultation to talk about what support I can offer, with no obligation to progress.

I look forward to meeting.

My Approach

I am a Person Centred Counsellor, which involves focussing on my clients needs and allowing you to make decisions about your life. The focus is on you and you can use our time to talk in a safe, confidential environment about anything you want to discuss
I do not give advice but will allow you time to work through issues and worries that are troubling you and causing you to have an unfulfilled life.

Together we can work together to gain a greater understanding of the situation you find yourself in at present

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
