I work with men and women who experience personal difficulties and suffering in their lives. Many of these issues cause great unhappiness and can have a negative impact on one’s health and wellbeing. They include anxiety, addiction (in which I have specialist training), depression, panic attacks, relationship problems, bereavement, low self-esteem and self-confidence, stress, thoughts,work-related issues, post-natal depression and anger management.
My aim is to work with you to address your issues and to help you live a more fulfilling and happy life. We are all unique and I offer a safe, friendly, supportive, accepting and confidential space where you have time to share whatever is worrying you.
I work to an integrated model which means that I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to suit you, your personality, cultural background and life experience.
I have many years’ experience of working with addictions where I worked for an agency which specialises in substance misuse, both in-patient and in the community. I have also worked for the NHS Primary Care Trust, NHS Medical Practice, as well as private practice.
I am a fully qualified counsellor/therapist and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I can also be found on the BACP Register which was set up by the Department of Health in 2013. All my work is supervised in accordance with the BACP guidelines and I attend regular clinical supervision
The initial session will give you a chance to see if you would like to attend further sessions. All sessions last 50 minutes and will usually take place at the same time each week. I work within the BACP framework and fully adhere to its code of ethics.
I offer flexible appointments (including evenings), Monday to Friday, to accommodate clients. The cost per session is £40 (concessions are available where appropriate).
