About me

Hello, thank you for taking the time to read my profile.  My name is Georgina. I am a qualified counsellor (individual member of the BACP) who has trained in an integrative way, being able to use my knowledge of different theories, to make sure that each person with whom I work, receives an approach best suited for them and their needs.

I have been working with charitable organisations over the past few years to gain experience working with different life situations, as well as having the experience of personal life challenges myself.

I work in a warm and welcoming way over telephone or zoom.  I aim to work together in partnership with all my clients, listening to their situations in a non judgemental, caring, compassionate and understanding way.  I offer confidentiality, as well as a safe and open space, allowing my clients to be able to explore their feelings freely.  Working together, in partnership, our objective is to find a workable solution, which is individually best suited for my client and their personal needs, to be able for them to move forward.

Life can definitely spring challenges on us over time, through a number of situations or even just one experience.  These can make us feel unbalanced and even unsettled at times, and can lead to various emotions for example stress, anxiety, and feeling depressed.  All of these can then have an impact on mental health, and can appear to sometimes be overwhelming, or, too much to handle.  There may be times when people might start to feel lost, confused, angered by the situation, without being able to see a healthy solution or a way to help themselves.

Counselling is not just an extremely personal experience, but it can be very therapeutic, as it can help lift a massive weight from people's shoulders.  Counselling can only be done when people are ready to talk.  Clients have full control over what they want to bring to each session, when they would like to see me (weekly or fortnightly).  I offer open ended counselling to all my clients which means they have the choice of when they feel ready to stop.

I work with ages from 18+.

The best way to contact me is either email or telephone, where we can arrange a free 30 minute consultation.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
