About me
Hi my name is Georgina (Gina for short). I have been a Counsellor/Psychotherapist for over 14 years.
Choosing the right therapist is a personal but important decision, so it is important to get the right fit.
My approach is gentle and very down to earth as talking to someone should not feel daunting.
Who and what do I specialise in:
I aim to encourage women to build self-esteem and to feel confident.
My current work has been in supporting young women from the African, Caribbean and Asian communities who have experienced emotional trauma, setbacks and difficulty; but all races are welcome, as these issues are not specific to one group of people.
I try to provide a space where cultural identity is not an issue and I encourage free expression of self.
How I work:
I am not afraid to challenge and gently nudge you through your journey, but be assured that we are working together!
My approach is underpinned with my own experiences.
I hope this gives you peace of mind as I will try to be holistic in my approach.
Further Information:
As an Integrative therapist I include my theological knowledge into my practice to encourage exploration of spirituality and how it may impact your life.
My foundation is based on the teachings of the Bible; I have a wide range of spiritual understanding and experience.
I am also a qualified aromatherapist and I feel that engaging your senses through smell is a comforting approach to your healing.
To conclude:
Being a counsellor is my passion and encouraging people to achieve their full potential is truly rewarding to me and hopefully, it will be for you.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
