About me

Hi, I'm Georgia! By actively seeking therapy through this page you have already achieved the first step towards change. Through therapy, I aim to help you in your journey to grow and fulfil your potential.

We live in a world where our daily challenges are extremely threatening to our mental and physical health. I want to make these daily challenges easier to live with no matter how big or small they might be.  Everyone is on a different life journey, I could potentially help you on yours.

I am a person-centred counsellor, also specialising in trauma-focused therapy. This way of working allows me to understand an individual's experience from their perspective. I will value you as a person and it is important to me to be open and genuine. I hope to make you feel accepted in our therapeutic space so that you can understand your feelings deeply whilst still feeling safe enough to do this.

I currently counsel children and young people privately and with an organisation across Manchester and Liverpool. I previously volunteered for a counselling service in Salford part-time, working with a range of adults and different problems. I gained my experience of working with young people through being a teaching assistant at mainstream and SEN schools. I recently completed studying an MSc course at the University of Salford: Psychology of Coercive Control. In the organisation I work for I work with young people who have been affected by domestic abuse.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
