About me

A little bit about me...

Hi, my name is Georgia - I am a fully qualified and insured Counsellor & Psychotherapist, working in private practice.

I am a registered member of the National Counselling Society and I follow and abide by their code of ethics.

I am a sincere, warm and honest person and I will offer you warmth and understanding, empathy, and respect for you, your values and belief system. I will accept you for who you are and support you with no judgement.

My experience...

I have experience in supporting with grief & bereavement, depression, suicidal thoughts, anxiety, self-esteem, trauma, self-identity, sexual abuse, relationship issues, and general life concerns, worries, stress, emotions, etc.

Along with my Counselling & Psychotherapy skills, qualifications and experience, I also have a level 5 qualification in understanding Autism - I have experience surrounding autism, sensory processing, and developmental delays and I have a passionate interest in offering my counselling skills here; supporting with the emotions, feelings and experiences surrounding this.

Sessions with me...

Looking for a counsellor can be a daunting experience, I feel it is a brave piece of us as individuals to be able to look inside and know when we need to reach out to a counsellor for support – it can be frightening to discuss our experiences and how we feel; Counsellors are trained to safely support you with areas of life that you may feel are painful and uncomfortable to explore, I will work at your pace in exploring any pieces you feel you want/need to bring to your sessions with me, the approach I use is an integrative approach which means I can draw on different models, theories and skills to help support you in the most appropriate way for how you are feeling and what you are experiencing, my approach has a person-centred core within this, meaning I will always offer you the conditions you need to feel safe and supported during sessions, this also means that sessions are led by you - I work at your pace and work in a way that suits you and your personality, I will always work towards your best interests, I work in a way that is always for the benefit of my client, which ensures I will always put you, your needs and your safety first. If you feel that I am the right counsellor for you, please do contact me.

Extra information about sessions with me...

There is no limit to the number of sessions you may have, my sessions are client-led and therefore I work with you for as long as you feel you need/want to attend sessions for, whether this is a few weeks, months or years, etc.

I will offer you my skills, and a safe space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences, for the duration you feel is right for you.

We will have an appropriate ending when sessions are coming to an end, and I will support you with any thoughts/feelings/emotions that may come up with this transition.

I am currently only offering online sessions, mostly via zoom.
