About me
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.
I am a Counselling Psychologist working both privately, and in a community eating disorder service within the NHS.
People come to therapy for lots of different reasons. For some, there are specific struggles/challenges they would like to work through. For others, therapy is an opportunity to learn more about the self. I will strive to cultivate a safe space where you feel able to explore areas of your internal and external world, without judgement. Each therapeutic relationship is unique; thus, your goals will be at the forefront of therapy, and I will frequently revisit these goals and adapt your treatment plan accordingly.
Please note, I am only taking on individuals for online EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing). During earlier phases of EMDR, I will draw on other approaches as we develop our therapeutic relationship and work on your coping skills, distress tolerance and your ability to communicate your emotions.
As described on the EMDR UK Association webpage, EMDR is: “a unique, powerful therapy that helps people recover from problems triggered by traumatic events in their lives. It stops difficult memories causing so much distress by helping the brain to reprocess them properly, working with memory to heal the legacy of past pain. EMDR therapy is best known for treating PTSD but can help with a range of mental health conditions in people of all ages including depression and anxiety”. EDMR is a three-pronged approach as it focuses on the past, present and future. As part of therapy, we will go through some psychoeducation around EMDR in more detail. This will give you an opportunity to learn more about the approach and how it might be applied to you. Each individual will have a treatment plan tailored to them, and their specific therapy goals.
Please get in touch to arrange a free consultation. This will be an opportunity for us to have a 15–20-minute chat to discuss what you might be looking for in therapy, ask any questions about what I offer, and see if we might be a suitable fit.

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
