About me

I'm an experienced psychotherapist & counsellor working in Stamford and Peterborough.

Welcome. Life is stressful.

Each person will have their own unique set of reasons and motivations for thinking about starting therapy and I'd like you to know you are welcome here.  Whatever your reasons for seeking therapy,  we all have mental health and a right to look after it.

Some of the mental health presentations I work with include: Addiction, anxiety, body image & disordered eating, Autism, ADHD, bereavement, co-dependency, depression, gender & identity, relationship difficulties, survivors of sexual assault, sexuality, survivors of emotional or physical abuse and trauma.

Whilst I often support those in crisis, it feels important to say you do not need to be in crisis to seek support.

My approach.

I have an MSc in Person Centred & Experiential Psychotherapy which means that I work with you to help re-frame and process your experiences without judgement.

I believe that you are the expert on your own life but that therapy can help you to make sense of relationship difficulties, difficult experiences, patterns of behaviour and help promote better mental health and wellbeing in your day to day life. Your safety and confidentiality are the centre of my work at all times.

I offer both short and long-term counselling and psychotherapy to suit the clients needs and budgets. I offer concessions to those on income support & trainee student therapists.

In addition to being a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP) I am also UKCP Accredited Psychotherapist. I adhere to the UKCP & BACP Codes of Ethics.

I am also a couples therapist.

Getting started.

I work from two locations in Stamford & Peterborough and offer a mix of face to face and online therapy sessions to suit client needs and locations.

Please take a look at to find out more about all my therapeutic services, the process of getting started in therapy and to enquire directly.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

  • Codependency
  • Adult Children of Addicts
  • Couples Therapy
  • Mental Health Consulting

In addition to therapy, I also work as a Mental Health Consultant. I'm passionate about encouraging properly regulated, high level mental health support within organisations. I believe this promotes success in the most productive, sustainable and ethical way for both employees and business providers.

I am strategically minded and possess a unique talent for assessing company needs and working to balance them within the best mental health interests of the individual. This can be achieved by looking at the wider needs of the business, or some 1-2-1 executive coaching. I work with a diverse client base including those within Sports Advocacy, Human Rights Advocacy, Charities, Law firms and Schools.
