About me

I am an experienced psychotherapist, counsellor & mental health consultant working in private practice to support clients with a range of mental health presentations. These include: Addiction, anxiety, body image & disordered eating, bereavement, co-dependency, depression, personality disorders, relationship difficulties, survivors of sexual assault, survivors of emotional or physical abuse and trauma.

My ethos is that our mental health is just as important as our physical health, and we should feel comfortable accessing help and support without stigma or prejudice for doing so. We all have mental health, so let’s look after it!

I'm trained in Person Centred & Experiential Therapy which means that I work with you to help re-frame and process your experiences without judgement. I believe that you are the expert of your own life and that therapy can help you to make sense of relationship difficulties, difficult experiences or patterns of behaviour to help promote better mental health and wellbeing. Your safety and confidentiality are the centre of my work at all times.

Please Note: Face to Face sessions are currently paused due to COVID-19 Pandemic. I am offering Online/Telephone therapy in place.

Online therapy is an effective and convenient alternative to traditional face to face therapy that can be accessed at a time and place to suit you. I accept virtual referrals from anywhere across the UK. For those who are nervous about switching to online therapy, or aren’t as comfortable with technology, I offer a free set up service ahead of your appointment to help you get started and comfortable with this change in service.

Alongside therapy, I work as a Mental Health Consultant, passionate about encouraging properly regulated, high level mental health support within organisations. I believe this promotes success in the most productive, sustainable and ethical way for both employees and business providers. Please click here for more information.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (MBACP).

I am currently in my final year of further training at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute working towards my level 7 UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy) accreditation.

Alongside private practice, I am an Associate Therapist at Rutland House Counselling and Psychotherapy in Leicester where I previously trained for two years.

I also have experience offering psychotherapy & counselling at Wansford & Kingscliffe Surgery in an NHS setting.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Further information

In addition to offering therapy, I also work as a Mental Health Consultant. I'm passionate about encouraging properly regulated, high level mental health support within organisations. I believe this promotes success in the most productive, sustainable and ethical way for both employees and business providers.

I am strategically minded and possess a unique talent for assessing company needs and working to balance them within the best mental health interests of the individual. This can be achieved by looking at the wider needs of the business, or some one to one executive coaching.

I work with a diverse client base including those within Sports Advocacy, Human Rights Advocacy, Charities, Law firms and Schools.

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
