About me
Hello, I’m Gemma, and I’m grateful that you’ve taken the time to look over my profile. I’m passionate about being a Counsellor and helping my clients gain a deeper understanding of themselves.
Choosing the right Counsellor can feel overwhelming, but I believe that the key to a successful therapeutic experience is the relationship between you and your Counsellor. It is essential that you feel heard and supported in a space that is safe, non-judgmental, and secure.
My video below gives an overview of what I believe are important factors in choosing a Counsellor...

I offer flexibility in how we work together, whether that's face-to-face at my rooms in Newcastle under Lyme or Stafford, or online or over the phone.
Training, qualifications & experience
Psychotherapeutic Counselling Staffordshire University Post Graduate Diploma.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy.
I have worked as Hospice Counsellor alongside my Private Practice since 2021, offering palliative care counselling, anticipatory grief, and bereavement support. This experience has been incredibly valuable and transferable to my work with all clients. It’s about those moments when your current ways of coping or looking at the world just aren’t helping anymore. You might feel lost, overwhelmed, or unsure, struggling to navigate new emotions or uncertainty.
I am in third and final year of training in Conscious Connected Breathwork- this has a focus on pre and post natal imprints. This has created a space for the deepening of my own personal development and connection with my body through the breath. This is enriching my practice in many ways.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
