Gemma Jones MBACP - Bourton Counselling
Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious or depressed? Perhaps life is just difficult, or your not feeling fulfilled at the moment. If that is the case, then counselling could help you.
Taking that step to contact a counsellor can be really daunting, but by having a safe space to share your thoughts and feelings, where you will not feel judged, can be hugely powerful.
I am passionate about helping people through difficult times, and strongly believe that by supporting someone to explore their worries and concerns in a calm and trusted environment, can be a true healer.
The way I work.
I am a qualified counsellor, and a member of the BACP. I work in an integrative way and incorporate the Person-Centred approach, along with Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis (TA) and the Psychodynamic approach, which means that I can work according to your needs. I aim to develop a trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship, where we can explore how things are for you. We move at your pace, working through what you choose to discuss at each session.
Who I work with
I have successfully worked with people who have a wide variety of difficulties, including work at a mental health charity, for short-term, but also long-term work dealing with anxiety, depression, bereavement, low self-esteem, and many other issues.
I have an interest in working with professionals. The pressures of modern day living, and balancing a career with a family, or other commitments/expectations, is not to be underestimated. Working and managing personal difficulties, can at times feel overwhelming, and that is when counselling can provide the much needed support.
