About me

Can you imagine your life without anxiety or depression? It is possible and I have hope that through this process I can support and challenge you to change your life and be able to manage life and its difficulties with resilience.

We are all unique, how often do you feel lost and unsure about who you are? I am from a mixed heritage background which has often felt difficult to navigate. Recognising and noticing our differences and embracing them in all capacities can induce major shifts in our sense of self.

I am a Person Centred Counsellor. I work with you and alongside you to explore the outcome and what that looks like for you. To work with me to come to an understanding of your goal for therapy and to deeply understand the importance and the route in which you will take to feel better and to feel comfortable in your decision. The therapeutic process will help you reach the outcome you want and need in your life.

In my practice, I prioritise creating a space where clients feel understood and supported. I offer full 60-minute sessions, which can be conducted online or over the telephone, ensuring accessibility and convenience for all.

For online sessions, rest assured that no additional applications are required. I will provide a link that directly connects you to a private and secure session.

My Approach

I specialise in assisting individuals in understanding and exploring their identity. My approach is person-centred, grounded in the belief that you have the innate ability to identify your areas of struggle. Together, we will work towards understanding and resolving your challenges within a safe, respectful, and judgement-free environment.

My aim is to provide warm and empathetic support, fostering self-acceptance, self-worth, and personal growth. We will delve into any problematic patterns, behaviours, and feelings, and address issues from past or present relationships that may be causing distress.

Championing Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

I am a strong advocate for Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion, recognising the significant impact of societal inequalities on mental health. My ultimate goal is to facilitate healing and enable you to thrive, rather than merely survive. I am committed to providing a service that respects and values all individuals, regardless of their background or identity.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

We have an initial chat to establish if I have the capacity and capabilities to work with your requirements and to make sure you feel comfortable working with me. This is free and will take up to 30 minutes via telephone.

Your first session is payable in advance, and I will complete a short assessment and outline our working agreement. Then we will begin the session, all of which will be included in the 60 minutes. Each session is £40.

Most clients will book weekly sessions, and we will regularly review how the sessions are going and the amount you may need. We will work flexibly based on you need, normally with a 6-week block initially.

Cancellation policy

All appointments must be booked and paid in advance. Any cancelled sessions require at least 24 hours notice.
