About me

As a fully qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, I work collaboratively with clients to arrive at their personal goals. CBT is both challenging and liberating and I understand the emotional and financial commitment in undertaking a course of CBT, and appreciate that clients hope to make positive changes and enjoy the results of the process.

I offer behavioural therapy to adults (couples, families, individuals) and young people. I can liaise with schools to implicate strategies that may assist young people with behavioural needs and to aid them to achieve their potential. I also work with adults and youngsters with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

My work is relevant to clients suffering:

  • depression
  • anxiety
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • addictions
  • self-harm
  • phobias
  • low self-esteem
  • bereavement
  • relationship issues
  • Anorexia
  • trauma
  • infertility
  • Relationships
  • those who wish to make positive changes in life but may need support with confidence, motivation, public speaking and self acceptance.

I offer an initial assessment appointment followed by a weekly/ two weeky appointment for as long as a client feels the process is helpful. CBT is not a 'quick fix', but an explorative journey which will require the client to undertake some 'home-work' in between sessions.

please email in the first instance and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a BA (hons) in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with ten years experience working with a range of client groups.  I also hold level 1,2,3 and diploma in person centred therapy. I have studied Transactional Analysis to level 2.

I am a fully registered member of the BACP and adhere closely to the guidelines in the ethical framework.

I have experience working in primary schools as a behavioural therapist as well as working with older children in private practise.

I worked for four years with adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse.

I have extensive experience with Autistic Spectrum Disorder including a level 3 certificate in intensive interaction therapy. I also have three autistic children of my own.

I have an enhanced CRB certificate and a certificate will be available for clients to view alongside my insurance certificate.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
