Hi, I’m Geeta! I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist (PGCert Level 6, PGDip Level 7). I have had experience in working with individuals within the private mental health sector, NHS and third sector charities. I have had experience working in Mental Health for 8 years. I am a Registered Member of the BACP (MBACP) and a member of the BABCP and apply these memberships through considered ethical practice.
I offer a kind, caring and compassionate approach for us to gain a better understanding of your current difficulties. As a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, we would collaboratively explore your difficulties before working towards finding appropriate techniques for us to reduce and manage the difficulties or challenges experienced and work towards promoting positive well-being.
CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) is recommended by the NICE guidelines and the Matrix Cymru. CBT is a talking therapy that emphasises the link between our thoughts, emotions and behaviours which can often result in us experiencing difficulties or challenges in our life. CBT has large evidence-based research which enables us to work with your mental health difficulties and work towards changes to improve your well-being. The research evidence will be considered whilst working with you; but, as a therapist, I will aim to gain an understanding of your difficulties and ensure therapy is meaningful and helpful for you.
Please do not hesitate to contact me via email if you have any further questions or would like further information before booking an appointment.
We could then arrange to have an initial session which will enable for us to discuss your current difficulties whilst using the therapeutic approach I am qualified in. We would explore if the approach is suitable for your needs and how I could best support you and your well-being.
I am currently offering support during the Pandemic via Zoom video.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
