Gavin McKivragan MBACP (Accred)
I am an experienced and qualified counsellor, and an accredited member of the BACP. I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you are free to explore any issues and problems you have.
As well as exploring present difficulties, counselling is also a place for growth and development. I believe that ultimately the clients know themselves best; my role is is to help you get in touch with your own inner wisdom by offering a place where you are valued, really understood and not judged. From this place you can make the choices that will allow you to reach more of your potential. You can begin to become more of who you really are rather than what others want you to be.
My approach is flexible and will depend on the needs of the client. I also use CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) to look at how our thoughts and beliefs affect how we feel and behave; and I use mindfulness and relaxation techniques to help you come into the present moment.
If you are interested in having sessions with me, I offer a 30 minute initial meeting (for which there is no charge). This is a chance to meet me and ask any questions before making any further commitment.
