About me

I believe that people can be pretty extraordinary if they are given the chance to be all that they can be. But life does seem to throw a lot of 'stuff' our way - all the ups and downs, the disappointments and heartbreaks... its no wonder that sometimes we need a little extra help.

I'm here to provide a supportive space for you to begin to explore whatever you're struggling with. I believe that together we can make a change in how you feel about yourself and how you can take a hold of life and make it the best it can be.

I work by developing a trusting relationship with you, enabling you to feel supported as we unpack the issues, feelings and thoughts that are causing you pain or confusion. This can be a challenging process, but in your own time, and in your own way, we'll take stock of things to help you find your way through.

Training, qualifications & experience

I qualified with a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling from University of Brighton in 2018. The 'school' of counselling that I studied was 'humanistic', (which has a positive, outlook in treating people as individuals) and I'd say that I've been quite influenced by existential therapy (focused on taking responsibility for our lives and exploring how our experiences shape the way we understand ourselves and others).

I've volunteered at both Cruse (specialising in bereavement counselling) and MindOut (providing counselling for the LGBTQ communities) for over a year at each organisation.

I've worked with people who have experienced bereavement, those that have felt suicidal, others questioning their gender and sexuality, people living with anxiety and depression and those who feel lonely, rejected and of little worth.

No matter what issues have been raised in our sessions I've always believed in the value and possibility inherent in each person. I feel fortunate to be able to work with people in this deep and profound way and to witness both the joy and pain experienced by people as they face their best and worst of times.
