Dr. Garret O'Moore - Counselling Psychologist
Hello and welcome, I'm Garret a Counselling Psychologist working in private practice and the NHS. I provide both brief and longer term psychotherapy as well as psychologically informed coaching.
You’ve likely found your way here because your wellbeing is not as you wished it would be. Perhaps it’s a general dissatisfaction or restlessness, maybe you experience high levels of anxiety, have a history of depression, lack confidence or self-esteem, struggle with relationships or experience undiagnosed physical conditions, from chronic headaches to Fibromyalgia and IBS.
Whatever your known problems or symptoms I will work together with you to address them so you can lead a richer and more personally meaningful life. How we achieve this will depend on what this would look like to you and what is standing in the way of you achieving this. My way of working can be considered integrative in that I will draw from a range of evidenced and leading edge psychological approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) & Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP) to help you address your difficulties and achieve the changes that you seek
If you decide that you would like to meet with me our first meeting will be a consultation where I will seek to understand your reasons for seeking psychotherapy. I will be open about my understanding of what you have shared with me and how we could work together. You will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. If you decide that you would like us to work together we will agree a working contract and an initial time frame which can be reviewed at regular intervals.
For psychotherapy a 50 minute session at the same day and time each week is the norm. However longer sessions and more and less frequent sessions can be arranged subject to availability.
