About me

Life has its challenges, no matter who you are or what you have experienced. While we often find ways to navigate through tough times, there are moments when it feels overwhelming, leaving us feeling stuck. Whatever has brought you to seek therapy, it’s important to acknowledge the courage it takes to recognise that you are struggling. Taking this first step is a powerful act of self-care.

Counselling offers you a safe, supportive, and judgement-free environment to explore your thoughts and feelings. As a Person-Centred therapist, my role is to walk alongside you, offering empathy, understanding, and guidance as you navigate your personal journey. For some, simply having the space to speak openly with someone outside their daily life can bring clarity and relief. For others, counselling can provide practical strategies to manage challenges such as anxiety or low self-esteem. Whatever your needs, I am here to support you every step of the way.

Why choose me?

Choosing the right therapist can feel overwhelming, but the key lies in finding someone you connect with, a person you instinctively feel you can trust. From personal experience, I understand that the first therapist you meet may not feel like the right fit, and that’s perfectly okay. To help you make this important decision, I offer a free 30-minute initial telephone consultation. During this call, we can explore your goals for therapy, and you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

Over the past 15 years, I have worked with children, young people, and adults in both educational and charity settings. Currently, I am a therapist at CAMHS (Child & Adolescent Mental Health service), supporting children, young people, and their families through a variety of challenges.

As an accredited member of the BACP, I adhere to their rigorous standards of training, experience, and ethical practice. In addition to my counselling qualifications, I have undergone training and gained experience working with neurodivergent individuals, including those with Autism and ADHD. My work also encompasses a wide range of issues, including anxiety, low self-esteem, depression, experiences of sexual abuse, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, school transitions, and bullying, among others.

If you’re looking for a short-term intervention with a specific goal in mind, I am experienced in using a brief solution-focused model to help you achieve meaningful progress.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
