Gabrielle Williams Reg. MBACP (Snr. Accred)
As a counsellor of 23 years, I have had the privilege of working with and helping people who are feeling vulnerable and distressed. If you are troubled in any way, which may mean you are feeling anxious and experiencing panic attacks, depressed or are having relationship difficulties, lacking in confidence or feeling unhappy at work or have suffered a bereavement, I am here to listen and talk this through with you.
The counselling model I most use is psychodynamic. This means that I will be interested not only in the difficulties that you bring but also in your life as a whole both past and present and particularly your relationships with others. This is because I believe that our past experiences and relationships still influence our feelings and behaviours in the present and sometimes this works against us leading us to feel unwell.
However, if you prefer, I am also able to work in a short term solution focussed way if it is suitable to the difficulties you bring. This would be more about what is happening in the present, looking at your strengths and promoting change by small achievable goal setting.
We would usually meet for 50 minutes and this would take place ideally on the same day and at the same time every week. This enables me to provide a safe and non-judgemental space for you to talk about and explore what is troubling you and over time, through our work together, come to a greater understanding of what is going on for you and how this might be changed. Our first meeting would be an opportunity for you to think about whether you feel you would be able to work with me and for me to think about whether I would be the best person to help you.
I charge £45 for each session for individuals and £70 for couples.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
