Dr Freya Kennedy, D.Psych, C.Psychol
Greetings! Welcome to my profile, and thank you for clicking.
My name is Freya and I am a BPS Chartered and HCPC registered Counselling Psychologist. I practice at Life Fit Wellness in Falkirk and at Citizen 17 rooms in Glasgow, which are both conveniently situated for train, bus, and car travel.
I offer a range of therapeutic interventions integrating acceptance and commitment therapy, compassion-focused therapy, schema therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, emotion-focused therapy, and person-centred therapy.
Put more straightforwardly; I like to work with my clients to find a way forward that works for them, and I can offer several ways of doing this. I also offer a 15-minute telephone consultation, free of charge, to make sure I am the right choice for you.
I am trained and competent to work with trauma (all presentations), OCD, eating disorders, anxiety, depression, psychosis, personality disorders, grief, bipolar disorder, and presentations relating to life transitions (e.g. Transitioning to civilian life, relationship breakdown, gender transition, and health diagnoses). I have advanced experience working with survivors of trauma including veterans, survivors of childhood abuse and neglect, sexual violence, and intimate partner violence. As such, I can offer specialised interventions at all stages of recovery.
I have gained experience in the NHS and charitable organisations, and I work in an evidence-based way, to the highest standard of professional proficiency. I have a warm and open manner and aim to encourage my clients to achieve their goals through empowering their resilience and capacity for growth.
