About me

Hi, my name is Frankie and I am a BABCP accredited high intensity cognitive behavioural therapist. I am also trained as an integrative counsellor and worked with young people from age 11 onwards and within adult services.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have ten years of experience working with families and progressed working one to one with individuals. I started off volunteering with The Children’s Society supporting parents with interacting with their children and offering them emotional support. I also have experience working with substance misuse and youth offending by offering a tailored care plan to manage their recovery.

The majority of my experience is working within mental health within a wide range of settings. I have done adult counselling, been a therapeutic practitioner in residential care, a complex needs practitioner. Now I am a CBT therapist. I enjoy what I do and meeting new people, helping them make sense of their difficulties and learn new ways of coping. I take a mind and body approach and help people understand how powerful the mind can be with our thoughts as well as how our unhelpful behaviours contribute to our mood.

I have worked with many disorders including depression, generalised anxiety, social anxiety, phobias, OCD, emotional dysregulation and PTSD. I enjoy working with all presentations and have a particular interest in working with trauma. Everyone's experience is unique to themselves and I like to help people make sense of what they have or currently experiencing and what is maintaining their difficulties. Once we have explored this, we then are able to work on changing and managing difficulties rather than just sitting with them. I do have a direct and active approach, as I believe transparency and education helps facilitate change. My aim is to help you feel more confident and empowered to be able to change your own thoughts and behaviours on a daily basis. Within my work I also like to consider attachment and how this makes us interact with others. I also draw on other models such as dialectical behavioural therapy.

I work holistically and adapt treatment to your individual needs. I try to be as human and transparent as possible when working with clients in order to facilitate our therapeutic relationship. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate in making contact.

My qualifications

  • PGDip Cognitive Behavioural Therapy High Intensity
  • Integrative Counselling FD
  • Certificate in Counselling Skills Level 4
  • Dialect Behavioural Therapy Level 2
