About me

Hello and welcome to FSK Therapy (Minds Matter)

I am based in the North East of England around the Stockton on Tees area of the old Cleveland/Teesside district.  FSK  Minds Matter Therapy is happy to offer a range of counselling, integrative therapy and support services to adults and young people 17+.

I have 23 years experience of working with children, adults and families, working in private practice for Schools, Local Authorities and I was previously a Managing Director of a company that supported children, adults and young people with Attachment and Trauma issues.

Referrals from private clients, Local Authorities, doctors, dentists, schools, and agencies are welcome

Amongst the services offered are:

  • Clinical Assessments
  • Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counselling and Therapy (Accred)
  • Clinical Supervision (Accred)
  • EMDR (Practitioner)
  • Snr Hypnotherapist (Accred)
  • Belief Coding (Accred)
  • Reiki ( Master Lvl 3)
  • NLP (Dip)
  • Coaching (Dip)

The clinical assessments I carry out can be utilised to source the underlying issue for the individual. The assessment clearly identifies the type of therapy adults/children/families would benefit from, tailoring the therapeutic plan to their individual needs.

I also offer a consultancy service offering advice, supervision and training to agencies and schools in order to support children adults and families in respect of any behavioural and emotional issues.

How can counselling and therapy help?

The Integrative Psychotherapeutic approach at its best is characterised by selecting different concepts and methods from a variety of modalities. This approach is creative by uniquely integrating and utilising them to tailor to the client’s needs.

One size does not fit all, we are all unique individuals, so a wealth of therapeutic interventions can be drawn on and used in order to support an individual. The aim of integrative psychotherapy is to facilitate wholeness so that the quality of the person’s life and experiences are positively enhanced whilst maintaining appropriate regard for each individual’s own personal limits and external constraints.

The integrative Psychotherapeutic approach can be supportive for any issue and individual experience.

Clients are made to feel welcome and safe within the therapeutic space, this way the client can be enabled and empowered to look at and work through their issues in safety and emotional security.

There is adequate parking via several car parks near the building.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified and experienced integrative psychotherapeutic child Counsellor, adult Therapist, Hypnotherapist , Reiki Master and EMDR practitioner offering short and long term therapies with young people and adults.

I am a qualified supervisor and hold a supervision diploma in person-centred therapy but work integratively.

I am an accredited Member of:

  • NCS ( National Counselling Society)
  • GHR (General Hypnotherapy Register)

I am also a member of other bodies that support my practice:

  • ESTD (European society for trauma and dissociation)
  • EMDR UK (Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprogramming)

I am fully committed to providing therapies and counselling in a safe and calm environment where confidentiality is fully respected. Our initial session will offer an opportunity for you to share your concerns and for the opportunity to assess which approach would be best suited to your needs. It takes courage and commitment to consider counselling therapy but it is well worth the investment.

I attend regular continued professional development enabling me to fully support my clients through what may be very challenging times for them and I have regular supervision each month. Supervision is a statutory requirement to ensure that therapy is of the highest standard.

I am a qualified and accredited  member of NCS, which means I have reached a recognised higher level of competence and experience. I am also a member of organisations that cover and govern the practice of the skills that I am trained in. I practice a form of therapy ( integrative) where the client and their needs are the sole focus rather than trying to make one size/ technique fit all. I am able to ascertain and to explore with you the techniques that will suit you as an individual and at a pace and timing which is the most comfortable and beneficial for you.

During my counselling career, I have gained extensive knowledge and experience and an appreciation of a variety of issues that can affect everyday life. I have worked in Local Authorities, schools and organisations alongside private practice, covering many areas including specialisms of attachment, trauma and dissociation and adoption.

“I work hard with all my clients in order to help them shift as quickly as possible towards their goal in their healing process.  In particular, I like to encourage my clients to find their strengths to empower them to manage the challenges of life.”

From addressing pain to overcoming lifelong fears (and everything in between), Belief Coding, gets straight to the heart of the issue without needing to invest lots of time and psychological energy.

I am also a qualified senior practitioner Hypnotherapist Accredited with the GHR.

Hypnotherapy is a combination of hypnosis and therapeutic intervention where the therapist supports the client to positive change in the subconscious whilst the client is in a deeply relaxed state. Hypnosis usually lasts between 2 and 4 / 6 sessions and is a much shorter intervention than other therapies.  The aim of the therapy is to help individuals find meaningful alternatives to their present unsatisfactory ways of thinking, feeling and behaving.

Hypnotherapy can help unlock inner potential and promote personal development. Hypnotherapists will often combine hypnosis with appropriate counselling/ therapeutic techniques. This therapeutic intervention can address anxiety, phobias, habits, addictions, smoking, overeating, alcoholism, low self-esteem, fear, pain etc

Hypnotherapy is a natural and safe way to help with many issues and circumstances that you want to change or improve.

Here are just some of the issues or problems that can be addressed with hypnosis:

  • Weight loss
  • Stress and Depression
  • Anxiety or OCD
  • Relaxation or Motivation
  • Confidence Building and Self Esteem
  • Public speaking or exam nerves
  • Anger and Sadness
  • Guilt or Loss
