About me

Hi, I'm Flavia – an Integrative and EMDR Therapist.
With over 20 years of experience in counselling and psychotherapy, I have worked with adults, young people, and children in both Brazil and the UK. My passion has always been to support personal growth, helping individuals create happier, more meaningful lives. I provide a safe, compassionate environment where you can explore challenges, build resilience, and reconnect with your inner strength.

My clients often describe me as warm, insightful, and understanding. I have worked with people from diverse backgrounds and can support you through a variety of concerns. In our sessions, my focus is entirely on you—your experiences, thoughts, and emotions. Together, we will explore your patterns, reflect on your life experiences, and work toward meaningful change.

I offer both short- and long-term individual therapy. The length of therapy is something we will discuss in our first session, and in the case of longer-term work, we will regularly review progress to ensure therapy continues to meet your needs.

Taking the First Step
I understand that reaching out for counselling can feel daunting. Asking for support can bring up feelings of vulnerability, but it is also an important step toward change. You don’t have to go through this alone.

I invite you to reach out via email. I offer a free, no-obligation online pre-session where we can discuss your needs and expectations and explore how therapy might support you.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Psychologist graduated in 2002 in Brazil and a Psychotherapist in the UK. I belong to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy Society UK (BACP). This means that I abide by their ethical framework while working as an Integrative Therapist and that I undertake frequent CPD and receive regular supervision to make sure my work is clinically safe.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.
