About me

Seeking support and finding the right therapist can be hard. Life can be challenging for many reasons and struggling with difficult feelings or mental health difficulties can hugely impact our lives. I am here to offer a non-judgmental and safe space for us to work collaboratively to help you with whatever struggles you may be facing. I have over 10 years of clinical practice in supporting young people and adults with a range of issues which impact their mental health, everyday living and relationships. It is my hope that working together will allow you to flourish and live your life in a way that is meaningful and true to you.

Informing and underpinning all of my work is the therapeutic relationship, alongside therapeutic approaches including: Family and Systemic Therapy, Person-Centred Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Solution Focussed. I have experience of working in many settings: sexual trauma centre, eating disorder unit, gender identity service, GP surgeries and schools.

I would be more than happy to answer any questions through email or speak with you on the phone prior to starting therapy. I fully understand how important it is to find the right person to work alongside and I would welcome the opportunity to explore this with you.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • MSc Family and Systemic Psychotherapy
  • Person Centred Counselling Diploma
  • BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy with Psychology
  • Member of the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP)
  • Member of the Association of Family Therapists (AFT)
  • BRIEF Therapy Certificate

My experience in both Occupational Therapy and Counselling roles have been within a range of multi-agency contexts including a higher education setting, forensic psychiatric hospital, gender identity service, inpatient eating disorder hospital and school settings as well as community settings. My work has involved individual, group and family work with people experiencing mild, moderate and severe, enduring mental health difficulties. This has provided me with knowledge and experience to be able to support people during emotionally challenging times.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
