Fiona Scott Thompson BA (Hons). MNCP Senior Accreditation. MBPsS.
You have probably been thinking about finding a counsellor for a while and wondering how to pick the right one for you.
The main qualities to look for in a counsellor are ethical practise, compassion, knowledge and skills.
Plenty of varied experience will also give you confidence in their abilities.
Counselling has been my passion for many years.
It is immensely satisfying to help someone gain insight, form coping skills and improve their mental health.
My qualifications in psychology and counselling enable me to work with a variety of skills and techniques, and lessons I have learned from life and from others, help me to work with a variety of people.
I have worked in many areas of psychological health over the last 20 years, and helped many people to regain a sense of control and satisfaction in their lives.
People I have worked with tell me I am calm and understanding and they have found confidence, insight and been able to move forward in their lives.
I provide counselling from a humanistic, person centred, and integrative basis.
I use a variety of models and tools to help people fulfil their potential.
Each individual will receive a tailored experience to fit with their needs.
Every individual will receive respect, compassion and understanding.
I work with people with all types of emotional distress.
Some people are experiencing grief and loss, some are depressed or anxious, some are worn down from coping with long term health problems which cause loss of confidence. Men and women of all ages who are struggling with long or short term problems.
I have 20 years of experience in counselling and helping people.
I worked for an NHS service for many years and became concerned about the very long waiting lists.
I set up a private practise so that when someone has the courage and energy to ask for professional help or support they can get that help quickly.
I provide telephone, Skype and face to face counselling.
It is a milestone to realise that it is time to ask for help. It takes courage to make the call, I understand how that feels, so you can also text me if you have questions.
