I am a BACP Accredited Humanistic Counsellor. I hold a Diploma in Therapeutic Humanistic Counselling and have training in CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.) I have also worked within Adult Primary Care (IAPT), as a counsellor. I am able to offer both short-term/brief therapy and longer term work.
I have experience working with depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement, anger, low self-esteem, loss, low-mood, abuse, family relationships, work-related stress, life-cycle. Also, I am qualified to work with counselling students, who are seeking personal therapy. (Humanistic Modality)
My aim is to offer you the opportunity to explore difficulties and life situations; in a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space, through a co-created therapeutic relationship of respect and acceptance.
All sessions are confidential and I adhere to the guidelines set out by the BACP. Appointments are booked in advance. If you have any questions or would like to discuss things further, prior to making an appointment please contact me either by email or telephone.
I work from a well-established Counselling and Therapy Centre, where I rent a room. There is a reception area and comfortable waiting room. The Centre offers good transport links, to both rail and bus routes. There is limited on-street parking and nearby car park, all within a short walk of the Centre. There is also disabled access for clients with mobility issues.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have gained my counselling experience working within colleges of further education with adults and young people, children's services, with parents, schools, with children, young people, adults and within Primary Care IAPT (Talking Therapies.) I work from a Humanistic perspective, drawing upon the core modalities of Person-Centred, Gestalt and Psycho-synthesis counselling, integrating CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) and Mindfulness interventions into my Humanistic approach.
