Counselling And Therapy Centre
I am a qualified and accredited BACP counsellor. I hold a Diploma in Humanistic Counselling and have training in CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) and Positive Psychology. In addition to working in private practice, I work independently within a School Trust, counselling children, young people and adults. I have also worked within the IAPT service (Talking Therapies) and therefore, have experience delivering time-limited therapy 6-10 sessions, for a broad range of mental health difficulties.
I have experience working with depression, anxiety, stress, bereavement, anger, low self-esteem, loss, low-mood, abuse, relationship difficulties, work-related stress, life-cycle and most life situations.
My aim is to offer you the opportunity to explore difficulties and life situations; in a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space, through a collaborative relationship of genuineness, respect and acceptance, to raise awareness, getting to know yourself more fully, conveying a sense of space for growth, healing and optimism, feeling more connected in the world.
Appointments are booked in advance. Our initial meeting would be to determine our suitably to work together and look at your therapeutic goals.
I work from a well-established Counselling and Therapy Centre, where I rent a room. There is a reception area and comfortable waiting room. The Centre offers good transport links, to both rail and bus routes.
Training, qualifications & experience
My experience working with mental health difficulties prior to working in private practice has been within educational settings, children's services, with parents and within Adult Primary Care, IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies)
I work from an integrative perspective, drawing upon the core humanistic modalities of Person-Centred and Gestalt therapies, integrating CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), Positive Psychology and Mindfulness interventions, engendering a more holistic approach to therapy.
