About me
Hi my name is Fiona and I am a qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I offer online and telephone counselling to clients all over the UK. I have a warm and gentle approach and have supported and helped many people with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, stress, work-related stress, relationship issues, family issues, bullying and low self-confidence and low self-esteem.
Counselling offers a safe, confidential and non-judgemental relationship where you can share whatever it is that is troubling you. In our personal relationships, we may feel that we are not being truly listened to or understood. It may be that we feel that we don't want to talk to friends and family about how we are feeling and the struggles we are facing and we would prefer to talk to someone independent. It can feel easier to talk to someone who isn't connected to us personally. This is when counselling can be really supportive and helpful.
I am a person-centred counsellor and this means that I am interested in you as a whole person and what has happened to you that has led you to feel the way you do, rather than just the symptoms that you are experiencing.
I offer a calm and therapeutic space where I will listen and support you as you share with me what you are going through. You can take as much time as you need and I won't push you in any way. The sessions will be led by you sharing with me what is important to you and we will explore and reflect on what you bring together.
In the sessions, we can work together towards your goals which might include reducing your anxiety, feeling more positive about yourself and the future, getting to know yourself and your situation better or improving relationships in your life. You may want to feel more confident in yourself and in making changes in your life, or maybe you just want a place where you can offload or tell your story. Whatever you need, I will listen to you compassionately and be supportive in helping you move forward.
I understand you may feel nervous about having counselling and I want to assure you that we will go at your pace. You can ask me any questions you feel you need to and I will support you all the way through your counselling journey. My main focus will be putting you and your needs at the centre of our work together.
Sessions
I offer sessions either online or by telephone. Having online or telephone counselling has become a very popular option as you can fit your counselling sessions around you. There are no travelling costs or times to take into consideration. You can have the sessions in your own home with your home comforts around you. Online and telephone counselling has been found to be just as effective as face-to-face.
You can have counselling sessions for as long as you need them. Sessions can be weekly or fortnightly. We will review the therapy together as we progress through the sessions to make sure you are getting what you need and that it is working for you.
If you feel that you would like to take that next step and talk to me, then I offer a free initial 20-minute telephone or Zoom session. This is a chance for me to find out more about you and what brings you to counselling I can tell you more about how I work and I can also answer any questions that you may have. You can then decide, with no obligation at all, whether you would like to book your first session with me.
You can phone or text me on 07361 255262 or e-mail meto find out more and book in the initial free 20 minute telephone or Zoom session.
If I am not available, please leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible and within 24 hours.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
